Infographic Resume Project Brief
Infographic resumes are a modern format that can be used in much to same way as the traditional networking resume (short, one-page personal marketing document that complements your traditional resume). For example, you might bring copies with you to networking events and to hand out to contacts you meet through all your professional networking activities.
Infographics in general are being used more and more frequently in traditional marketing. There are good reasons for that: graphics and color make a document pop. This is true in traditional marketing and it is also true for your infographic resume.
Graphics, color, charts, graphs, callout boxes, and other design techniques provide you with an attractive and effective way of promoting your qualifications, differentiating you and making you more memorable than your competitors for the job.
When you create an infographic resume, the goal isn’t to just use graphic elements to be “fancy.” Rather, give real though to the information you want to convey, and create a design and format that calls attention to these key pieces of information.
You will want to make sure your focus and personal brand is clear, as it is in this example infographic resume. Your career chronology, education, and major accomplishments are also common inclusions.
Colors are a matter of taste and what works well with your brand. A monotone color scheme such as we have used in this document is sophisticated and often works well on an executive resume. However, a brighter and diverse color scheme such as we have used in this example works well too. Decide what you like and let your personality shine through.
