Executive Biography Samples

Purpose: Executive biographies are often asked for during executive job searches

Quick Tips for Writing an Executive Biography:

The above documents are sample executive biographies to be used both during and after your job search. The average job seeker can use a biographical sketch to help them complete online profiles such as those on LinkedIn and Facebook. Biographies are helpful to entrepreneurs seeking funding for a business plan. Executives may be asked for a biography instead of or in addition to a resume during the job search. Biographies are also often asked for when you speak at events or participate as a member of boards. Once you have been hired, you may be asked for a biography by the new employer, to be used in their marketing materials. Like resumes, biographies should be written to emphasize your personal brand and really showcase what is unique and special about you. Biographies are also the document in which it is acceptable to briefly mention personal information about hobbies or your family–items that you would not include in your resume.

Laura was a pleasure to work with. She address all my needs and was blown away how my new resume just "POPS" and gets your attention. I will recommend to my family, friends, and colleagues about how you can launch and re-launch careers. Thanks.

Last Monday I received a call from a low level recruiter that had read my old resume on the Institute of Packaging Engineers job site. She was looking for a candidate to fill a Packaging Engineer position that paid $60-$70,000 per year. I emailed her my new resume, the one you created, and immediately received a call from her boss. The boss was a much more savvy, high powered, recruiter. She had a much higher position in mind for me...The interview went very well. My second interview, this time with the CEO and the directors of the companies two current divisions is scheduled for this Wednesday...The position is for a Business Development Manager to start a new division. Once sales hit $4 million dollars the position will become the director of the division and expansion will begin in earnest. The salary for this position starts at $120,000 per year. I just can not thank you enough for the all the hard work you did to create such an outstanding resume and set of support letters. The recruiter received the recruiter letter and resume. The company received the resume and the thank you letter. Things are looking good to land the perfect job for my experience and aspirations.

All of the folks I spoke to while trying to decide to use DCS and while preparing my resume and bio with DCS were just great. They are all very personable and professional and quite knowledgeable of the DCS products and services. I am happy with the resume prepared for me by Sharon Green. Her first draft only needed a few modifications to get to a completed draft. I appreciate her patient nudging to move me along in providing input to her. Also, it was so good of her to quietly listen to my description of my job duties and experience so that she could weave those tings into my resume and bio. Thank you Sharon!! I was at first very tentative about using a professional resume service. But DCS customer support personnel were very good in addressing my concerns and alleviating any anxiety I had about using DCS. In the end I feel that DCS has given me a much better resume and bio then I would have drafted myself. I am confident that the DCS product will help me greatly in obtaining another position. Friendly, professional, helpful and empathetic personnel at DCS.

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. I have been busy interviewing. I am on the brink of an offer in Boston and Pittsburgh. Boston is the role I'm hoping for. It is a great role with a world leading paper manufacturing company. I believe the resume and cover letter you prepared was very helpful in my job search. It clearly was far better than what was proposed by xxxxxxxxx consultants - the outplacement firm that I was working with. I got a lot of attention from headhunters after the first wave of your blast e-mail. Many discussions but nothing that came from it -- mostly match issues. Thanks for your support and I will keep in touch.

I just want to let you know that this week I had four interviews and 3 job offers! One is with my mentor's company, XXXXX, another with XXXXX, and a third with XXXXX. The salary ranges are from $80-$100k. I'm deliberating now about my options, and will start "negotiations" this afternoon. Two job offers came on the same day (yesterday). Three of the interviews came from my on line responses to ads. The XXXX interview was arranged by my mentor who suggested I apply for a position. This all happened (the callbacks) between 1-3 days after I posted my resume. The VP at XXXXX who interviewed me said that he reads thousands of resumes, and that mine was really exceptional. He was talking about your work. Thank you!

(Received a few days later from the same client...)

I start August 4th as an assistant PM working first on a 1.5 billion (with a "b") dollar proposal, then off to the job site in September, working either on the XXXXXX renovation project or various cultural projects with musuems, libraries, etc. in XXXXX. Starting salary $90k with a review and increase to $95 by the end of the year. If I finish my PMP and LEED certifications, I will get an additional $3k for each certification.

I'm so happy that this happened so quickly and that it's such a great job! As I mentioned, the reason they called is because of the resume. They were also impressed by the biography, and apparently the interview went well too :) Thanks again for everything. I couldn't have done it without you.
